Winter in Wyoming - Grand Tetons & Yellowstone 2010

Our winter trip to Wyoming offered outstanding photography opportunites inspite of less than normal snow. We started in Jackson and the Tetons. Pronghorn antelope usually migrate out of the area, but this year for some reason they were still around.





Moose are not uncommon in the Tetons, but this year we found them in record numbers. One group had fourteen moose.









Nothing beats the Tetons for winter scenery on a sunny day.





We also found a large group of Big Horns.



We visited the National Elk refuge. Every year thousands of elk spend the winter there.








We then traveled to Yellowstone for four nights at the Snow Lodge. We had not photographed any bisons in the Tetons this trip, but there were plenty in Yellowstone.







We found an eagle nest with a couple adults preparing their homes for this year's babies.





Trumpeter swans are more plentiful in winter than any other time during the year.



Landscapes in Yellowstone are also very unique in the winter season.









Once again, the winter in Wyoming and the Tetons and Yellowstone offered many outstanding photo subjects.
